The Association of Norwegian Students Abroad (ANSA, in Norwegian: Samskipnaden for norske studenter i utlandet) is a non-profit and membership based organisation aiming to voice the educational, cultural, political and economic interests of Norwegian students studying outside Norway and to promote overseas students as a valuable resource to domestic employers. Students can seize the opportunity to take part in high-impact practices via internship opportunities in Norway’s capital city, or study in a region rich in cultural traditions and outdoor life. While most coursework is offered in English, students have the choice to continue Norwegian language studies, or explore Danish or Swedish. Study abroad in Norway is strongly recommended for all students, not only Norwegian majors or minors, but also any adventurous UND student. UND has several longstanding exchanges with universities in Norway. As the coronavirus pandemic lays bare a number of major weaknesses in the U.S. medical system, one university in Norway went as far on Sunday as to specifically advise all students studying abroad to come home in order to avoid having to rely on American healthcare if they become ill.
